Cat licking?
My long-haired cat is an excessive cleaner. Everytime we touch her, she licks the spot we just touched. We need to give her medicine because whenever she licks she gets hairballs and it irritates her stomach, so she throws up every day. Is there a way I can get her to stop licking so much, she is 11 and never used to lick this much. Is there something wrong with her? Thanks!
I also shave her myself in the spring, but the problem still persists.

there is nothing wrong with her. i read somewhere that its natural for a cat to lick themselves more as they get older.
Has her routine changed in the period she has been licking? Has a new person or animal been introduced into the house? Have you moved, gotten married, divorced, changed jobs? Have you changed her brand of food or litter?
If ypu can’t get the licking under control I would take her to the vet and get her checked.
Good luck.
maybe you could get her hair cut?
idk.
My cat does the exact same thing. He even likes to lick me, and if allowed will lick every exposed inch of my body.
Talk to the vet. It may be normal for her, as it is for my cat, or she might need anti-anxiety medication. Anyway, it’s an easy cure.
She sounds normal to me. Just get used to her groomings every day. Get her some hairball control foods.
