Cat licking kitten butt? Both females.?
Now my female cat has started licking the new female kitten’s butt. I try to cover it, but she keeps sniffing to find it. Are you sure this is normal? Is there a possibility of homosexuality? She meows alot, maybe she’s coming into heat, and if thats the case, could it be that her sexual energy is being directed toward the kitten. Bear in mind the last time she was with other cats was when she was a kitten herself, she is now 2 years old and the kitten is new. The older cat has never been around a male yet. Please help.
Ps. she’s never had kittens, so the whole maternal thing never happened

STOP WORRYING!
That is actually great that your cat is doing that. Cats clean each other naturally and it has nothing to do with sexuality.
The good news is you cat likes and approves of the new kitten. Meaning your cats are going to get along. But it’s completely normal for her to do that.
Homosexuality is possible and existant in virtually all known animal species, so yes, that’s indeed a possibility.
I suppose the easiest way to check is to put her together with a male and a female, and if she’s still attracted to the female, well then I guess you have your answer.
edit: Hang on, the other’s a kitten? Well in that case you can probably ignore what I said.

It’s probably just a hormone induced instinctive response to the other cat or she is merely grooming the other cat. There is nothing to be offended about as there is nothing deliberately sexual about this behaviour.
Cats clean each other all the time, yes even each other’s bums. The kitten might be young and unable to clean herself right so the adult cat is just helping.
It has NOTHING to do with sexuality and cats can’t be gay. Get your cats altered ASAP.
