My kitten keeps licking my face! How do I make it stop!?
Hi,
My kitten is 11 weeks old, and I generally keep my bedroom door open so that he can sleep with me. For the first three or four nights he did fine, slept by my head or under my chin, but recently he’s been keeping me up by licking my face. He doesn’t stop, if I let it, it will go on for minutes at a time. I move him away or put him off the bed, but he just jumps up and licks my face again. I don’t have anything on my face that I know of.
What can I do to keep him from licking me, get him to sleep at night, and not have to put him out of my bedroom?
Thanks!

he wants to be stroked he want to be hugged loved something or probably he thinks your his mother and he licks you so you can groom him or he wants food, water wet your hand just a little bit and stroke him (like his mother) or he i very sweaty he wants you to turn on the heat maybe…? he is probably bored or he stops sleeping to try to groom you or…? he thinks your a big piece of stake or sausage or he’s probably used to licking the floor when you got he him he probably liked to lick the floor before you got him or he wants to play well put the food he doesn’t ike on our face then leave it there for 30 min. and then take everything off or you rather put a smell on your face a mel he doesn’t like but you do and then he wil top licking you do it for 30 days
Hope This Works

he’s either just being a loving kitten…or telling you he wants something…maybe he needs water or food…
Try licking it back!If that does not work put something bitter on your face that the cat wont like..maybe unscented deodorant..It wont hurt the kitty or you so its safe..
just keep putting him down by your feet… mine always slept on my head but never licked me in the face. and my other cat will he has issues with licking armpits so i just usually push him away and he doesnt bother me…
he just wants to be groomed like his mother used to do, wet your thumb and stroke him on his head with your wet thumb, he should start to settle down and go to sleep, i know it sounds strange but it works
Maybe you can pet him friendly and give him your cat food. Then shut the door. That is a trick because my aunt use to have 7 cats and I learned the trick by looking at the troubles. But if you got a fish in the house and your cat cat wants to eat it,you better get another fish you have to fish or maybe you are being kind to him.
my cat loves to lick my ears, go figure why a cat would like the taste of earwax – yuck. anyway… try gently blowing at it’s nose (up it’s nose). they hate that feeling and will turn away. since the cat is licking your face, this method seems pretty easy to try.
Here is what you do… you keep getting her off of the bed for a few days and see how that goes, if he doesn’t stop then close your door to keep him out of your room for a few days and then check. It should work, i know how because i have a kitten too. and she stopped a month ago using this method
