It shouldn’t be a problem. Most of these things are made with that possibliity in mind and are safe. The biggest thing I have seen when my cats have done that is a nasty face and a shake of the head because it must taste bad.
It would posion them, leading to possible death. An emergency vet trip would be needed
That’s why it is applied on the back f the neck, so they can’t lick

The label on the product should tell you if it is poisonous. Hartz mountain is a bad product. Most flea medication is alcohol based and drys quickly. Should your kitty lick it then you should be aware of the treatment by reading the label on the product.
depends what flea spary you used ..
you can’t use the pet flea spray that you buy from the pet shop on very young kittens they ahve to be at least 8 weeks old before you can treat them.
you can use frontline spray on kittens as young as 2 days old
..it has to dry on the kittens before you put them back with the mother ..otherwise it will make her sick..
reactions to licking the wet spray .. foaming at the mouth.. sickness and diarrohea.
Dog flea spary will kill a cat.
I had that happen once, in fact, I gave it to them by mistake. I had always used the one that is taken by mouth, and didn’t look at what my husband brought me. When I noticed them vomitting, it suddenly struck me that it was the one to be put on their neck! I phoned my vet, and he said it wasn’t a problem, it just tastes bad, and it must have, they pulled some very strange faces! That was over 5 years ago, and they are still fit and healthy, so I guess it wasn’t a problem!
WOAH you should DEFINITELY make sure your kitten NEVER eats flea remover. never let your full grown cat eat it either. in kittens, death is highly probable. some brands cause seizures and death to both kittens and cats. i suggest that you avoid using any flea and/or tick products on your cat that you can’t constantly supervise. you should probably just give them flea baths every once in a while. (my friend had kittens that licked flea remover off of their mother’s fur and died. so don’t use any flea or tick removers anywhere NEAR kittens.)
