Why does my kitten bite my 11 year old cat's neck?

We have three female cats a six month old kitten, a three year old calico, and an eleven year old tabby. In the past few months I have witnessed the kitten licking the top of the tabby’s head and then biting her neck. Sometimes they’ll do this over and over until the tabby gets frustrated and knocks the kitten away. I seem to remember this happening when we first got the calico too. Is this okay?

It’s normal behaviour. When kittens play, it’s often mock hunting play. The licking and biting (we call that baste and taste at our house) is very normal.
Even our grown up cats do that to us. Lick us, then bite (not hard, they never break our skin).
My six ages range from 12 years of age to almost 1 year. This is called social interaction and is normal for all cats and kittens that were not weaned from their mothers too soon.
Enjoy their antics. My two youngest ones gang up on my tortoiseshell marked cat who gives them their play time.
