Why is my kitten always licking herself to the point of getting bald spots?
My kitten is 2 months old.
Her licking problem has just started, she tends to lick her paws the most and now have patches of bald spots on them.
She doesn’t seem stressed, she plays around a lot and seems fairly happy.
Shes feed, shes not overweight, access to water when ever and is litter trained..
We have 2 dogs a chihuahua and a lab pit mix, they all love each other, no problems..
Iv had cats all my life, but never had this problem
Thank You so much.
oh, and she doesn’t have fleas

Hey, maybe it could possibly be from stress?
I brought my cat to the vet for the same problem because he was obsessively licking the back of all his legs to a point where he had no fur. The vet told me it was from stress it could be something little like her not getting enough attention, loud noises, not enough food, simple things could be bothering her especially since she is young.
the vet ended up telling me to buy my cat catnip and that bitter apple spray for cats and I would spray it on him than I made sure he was living happily and comfortably.
And even if its something else like her just being obsessive with licking the bitter apple spray should help
but if you do choose bitter apple make sure you only spray it where the bald spots are so she doesn’t make the bald spots worse
and leave the rest of her body cause cats loove to groom themselves.
she has a food allege or skein condition
It sounds like fleas, hove you gotten her into a vet for flea treatment?
EDIT: Hm, then, honestly, I don’t know, maybe try to take her to the vet.
Good Luck!
There are many possibilities to why she could be doing this. When cats excessively lick or groom themselves to the point where they get bald spots the medical term is Psychogenic Alopecia. Depending on why your kitten is doing this, it could be the same as people with OCD. Here is a website where you can read about it: (http://www.petplace.com/cats/psychogenic-alopecia-in-cats/page1.aspx) You should take your kitty to a vet and ask them to check for possible food allergies, skin conditions, etc. My cat has developed Psychogenic Alopecia and he doesn’t have fur on his hind legs anymore, it looks quite strange hehe hope this helped!
