Why are three of my kittens licking the fourth ones neck so much?
I’m sure this seems like a random question, but I am fostering four kittens. Three all seem very normal and look similar. The 4th is scraggly and thinner than the rest. The three healthy kittens are always licking at his neck and throat when they cuddle in their bed. He doesn’t seem to mind it, he just lays there and lets them do it…so I assume that it is their way of taking care of the guy since he appears to be the runt. But I thought I would ask and see if anyone else knew what was actually going on.

sometimes the mum rejects the runt one and wont feed and leavs to die and pushes away, but if she ok with this one maybe they showing more love
Actually…. it could be either:
1) they are showing their dominance over the kitten, or
2) they are showing affection.
I suspect it is more of showing dominance if he is the runt. Do be sure he gets plenty to eat. You may want to supplement his feeding.
http://www.kittenrescue.org/handbook.htm will tell you how to feed him.
